Biography
Yuanbao Du is a community ecologist at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with an emphasis on vertebrates and their interactions with biotic and abiotic environments.
He pursues three main research directions: (1) understanding patterns of biological invasions, revealing their impacts on local threatened species, and developing strategies for risk management, (2) uncovering the mechanisms that maintain biodiversity, and (3) investigating species coexistence.
Across these areas, he examines how climate change and human disturbance shape ecological dynamics by integrating long-term field surveys and monitoring with species distribution modeling and analyses of large-scale datasets.
